Child Care Welland - Main 2
Applying for Subsidy

Eligibility For Subsidy

Families must meet with a Subsidy Worker from the Regional Municipality of Niagara to determine whether they are eligible for subsidized childcare. The Supervisor of the centre you are planning to enroll in will give you the phone number for the subsidy intake line.

Applying For Subsidy

Parents must visit the Onelist website at to put his/her name on the waitlist for any child care space.

Parents should meet with the Subsidy Worker to determine eligibility as soon as possible. The Subsidy Worker will determine how many days per week and the hours per day the child is allowed to attend the centre.

If parents wish to start their child prior to receiving subsidy approval, they must pay full child care fees. The Subsidy Worker may backdate the families subsidy to their start date, and A Child's World will then reimburse the fees paid by the parent to the date the Subsidy worker gave the approval for. Once the Supervisor of the centre receives the subsidy approval in writing from the Subsidy Worker, the child can begin on the start date approved, (depending on the availability of space).

The parent is responsible for informing the subsidy worker of any changes in their address, phone number, employment, school or training circumstances. This includes a change in the number of days required, or a change in daily work hours or pay. Failure to notify the Subsidy Worker of changes could result in the loss of subsidy.
